Here we go! Thanks again to Exsport! You can find more explanation in its mother tongue, in the AlfTech forum.
The tone problem is now eradicated with this last version. This version is the result of an extraction from a recent Sigmatek XM-400 player.
Some tests are progressing to know exactly all improvement or regression with this version.

Modders are probably going to add the really good functionnalities of previous modified firmwares...

Thanks to dete_88 who send us a new firmware to improve following points on AVI subtitles:
- Lower MPEG4 subtitles position
- Bottom alignment of the MPEG4 subtitles
- Bug-fix: max limit 62 character in MPEG4 subtitles is removed
- New subtitle font: Arial Narrow (makes place for more characters per line)

A new firmware sent by Stun in the forum.
This file is probably a sum of modification already done on the XM-600 brother, the OPPO 971H.
Here you have some improvments grought by this firmware:
1. Increased the DVI mode change display time.
2. Audio/.Video sync enhanced
3. Proper DivX aspect ratio support. 4:3 content will no longer be stretched to fit the screen.
4. Parameters adapted to PAL mode
5. Increased baseline Brightness. Default Brightness is now equivalent to “+5” in previous firmware.
6. Added support for 2:2 Cadence for PAL playback.
7. Fixed proper aspect ratio support while zooming.
8. Enhanced DVD+R Dual Layer support.
9. Fixed TrueLife turning off DCDi. Turning Off TrueLife functionality will now retain all DCDi functionality.
10. Added Noise Reduction function.
11. Added support for DTS and Dolby Digital tracks on DVD-Audio discs
12. Added memory function for single ejected disc
13. Added Random and Shuffle functionality for Audio CD playback.
14. Added firmware Version display through OSD button.
15. Added support for DivX Digital Right Management (DRM) and Video on Demand (VOD)
Take care, this firmware get some inconveniences at this time, read this in forum.
And take all precaution, as usual, before upgrading your player; the XM-600 does not cost 40 Euro! |

| 2006/03/01 [ Sigmatek-Players ] : After Sales Service mandatory for DVBX-120 Pro |

For people who bought the player DVBX-120 (with DVB-T tuner) and have the 2 majors following major problems:
- desynchronization between audio and video (with DVB-T stream)
- a black screen in regular interval
The only solution is to send back your player to after sales service department of your retailer. An hardware and firmware update will be done by Sigmatek and the player will be sent to you when repaired.
So do not wait anymore a firmware update to fix the problem and send back quickly your player.

All you want in a single smart box for this new multimedia hard drive. Probably equipped with the new Sigma Designs chipset EM8621, it will be compatible with: DivX HD, WMV9 HD, DivX 3 to 6, XviD, Nero Digital, MP3, WMA, etc...
Decoding compatibility up to 1920x1080 HD!
It will also get an USB Host port to read files on external hardware (USB keys, disks, etc.).

cocute helped by Gufiak has broken the limit of 50 characters, for filename, imposed to be able to play subtitles with AVI. Now the limit is up to 255 characters. Then you won't have anymore problems to play your subtitles with long filenames.

The Sigmatek PVR-890B should be available in February.
It will record on DVD+R/RW and an 160 Gb embedded hard disk at a price around 349 Euro.
Obviously it will be compatible with DivX media as the majority of Sigmatek products.
All main specification are not really definitive but you can already consult the Sigmatek site to get more information. |

| 2005/12/30 [ Sigmatek XM-380 ] : Again a new firmware v.2.5 for the Sigmatek XM-380 |

This time cocute has fixed 2 problems presents previously in the version 2.3:
- when more than 60 characters is displayed using SRT files, no more weirds characters are displayed under the subtitles
- the 2nd ligne of SUB subtitles now displays correctly the first character of the line
Once again, a big thanks to cocute for the work.
2 version are available:
- version 2.5 using 1252 charset (French, etc.)
- version 2.5 en 1250 (Czech, etc.)
These firmwares are downloadable as Nero image, so you just have to open them with Nero and burn. |

This firmware bring the following improvements:
- Fix "ç" character in subtitles
- Added cocute new logo (based in Laza design)
- Added new image browser (sigmatek400 by Laza/Chiesa)
- Fix limit 60 characters to 124 in subtitles, with errors commented in forum (random chars displayed at bottom of screen and first character of second line not displayed with SUB file).
